Talk to anyone who knows anything about belly dancing in Birmingham, and the name Aziza is guaranteed to get dropped. She is something of a celebrity in the area, and there’s no question that she has earned that status. Aziza has been teaching and performing the classic Egyptian style of dance for over 36 years, and she is loving every minute of it.
Look for Aziza and some of her dancers on WJXSCA Channel 24′s ”Dean and Company” during the Christmas Special and New Year’s Eve Special.

UPCOMING PERFORMANCES
Dancers from Aziza’s School of Middle Eastern Belly Dance will perform on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:30 pm in Linn Park during the Magic City Art Connection.
Aziza’s School of Middle Eastern Belly Dance will have their Spring Studio Shows in June 20, 2014 in our new facility at Homewood Recreation Center located in Homewood Park at 1632 Oxmoor Road. Dates TBA.

2009 Closing Thoughts
We ended 2009 with my dancers, Jallila and Saideh, winning the first Southeastern Belly Dance Queen Contest in the category of Queen and First Runner-Up, respectively; you both did a great job. And, Sumaya, the designer of my website, friend and dancer, did a beautiful job as well.
Classes for 2010 started off with a terrific group of new dancers in the beginner classes; I hope you enjoyed your experience and will continue when classes begin again in February.
